Among the initiatives undertaken to mark George Steuart & Co.’s 190th anniversary, George Steuart Teas contributed to the preservation of Sri Lanka’s tea heritage through its work at the historic Adisham Bungalow.
The project included the renovation of facilities at Adisham and the installation of the statue of Sir Thomas Lister Villiers, honouring a legacy closely connected to the history of Ceylon Tea.
Set amidst the hills of Haputale, Adisham remains an enduring symbol of Sri Lanka’s tea heritage and cultural history. The initiative reflects the spirit of Steuart Senehasa, where happiness meets purpose, through the preservation of a landmark of historical and industry significance.
